View events and deliveries

See every webhook a source received, where each one went, and what happened on each attempt.

Every webhook a source receives is kept as an event, with a delivery for each destination it went to, for 30 days.

List events

curl "$HOOKS_URL/events?source=$SOURCE_ID" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $HOOKS_API_KEY"

Events are newest first. Each one says when it was received, its method and path, its size, and how many of its deliveries are delivered, failed, and waiting. Filter with source, and with status:

statusMeans
routedAt least one connection took it
filteredNo connection took it

Read one event for its query, headers, body, the address it came from, and every delivery it made. See Events.

List deliveries

curl "$HOOKS_URL/deliveries?destination=$DESTINATION_ID&status=failed" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $HOOKS_API_KEY"

Filter with destination, and with status:

statusMeans
pendingWaiting for its first attempt, such as during a delay or while the destination is paused
sendingAn attempt is under way
retryingAn attempt failed, and the next one is due at dueAt
deliveredYour app took it
failedIts last attempt failed
cancelledIt was cancelled before it was sent

trigger says why it was made: event, when the webhook arrived, or resend, when it was sent again.

Read a delivery

Reading one delivery adds every attempt, each with when it started, how long it took, your app’s status, the error, and the first 4 KB of your app’s answer. When the connection has a transformation, sent holds the headers and body it returned, which every attempt sends.

curl "$HOOKS_URL/deliveries/$DELIVERY_ID" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $HOOKS_API_KEY"

See Deliveries.

In the console

Open Webhooks in a project. Events lists what each source received, Deliveries lists where each one went, and a delivery opens to show its attempts and what it sent, with Send again and Cancel.
